Dr. Sean Cronauer received his BS in Biology from Pennsylvania State University before attending Salus University in Philadelphia, PA where he received his Doctorate of Optometry. He completed externships with extensive training in the management of chronic eye diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration and graduated with clinical honors. Dr. Cronauer provides primary eye care services including glasses and contact lenses as well as medical eye care and surgical co-management. He has a special interest in chronic eye disease and providing these patients with the best visual outcomes. In his free time, Dr. Cronauer enjoys to golf, travel with his wife, Dr. Stacey Krings Cronauer, and is an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Dr. Cronauer is proud to be the official team eye doctor for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. In addition to providing eye care for the team, he enjoys attending games at Pelicans Ballpark with his family.
Dr. Stacey Krings Cronauer is originally from Jacksonville, Florida. She received her degree in Biology from the University of North Florida. She graduated with clinical and academic honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia in 2019. During her time at PCO, she completed training in primary care, ocular disease and contact lenses. Dr. Krings is happy to provide routine care, as well as the management of eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, macular degeneration and glaucoma. When not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband Sean and their dogs, especially by the beach or the pool.Â
Dr. Smith completed his undergraduate studies at Erskine College and went on to receive his doctorate from the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Optometry. He provides primary eye care services at Tidal Eye Center, formerly Smith Eye Associates, and treats every patient like family. He was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, and was proud to return home and be able to provide care in the community where he grew up. He has been voted Best of the Grand Strand for best eye doctor several times, and is a lifetime member of the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association. When he's not at work, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his kids and grandkids and cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks athletic teams.
